Mrs. Treva M. Sterner
LARUE – Mrs. Treva Meckley Sterner, 77, Glen Rock RD 2, near here, widow of Harry E. Sterner, died today at York Hospital, where she was admitted Sunday. She had been ill for the past year.
A resident of this area for the past 53 years, she had conducted a grocery and restaurant business here until she retired 15 years ago.
She was a member of the Lutheran congregation of Zion (Shaffer's) Union Church, near Seven Valleys, and the Lutheran Church Women there. She also held memberships in the Glen Rock and Seven Valleys Fire Co. auxiliaries.
Surviving are five children, Mrs. Preston Henry, Mrs. Donald X. Small, Harry M. Sterner and Mrs. Helen M. Watson, all of Glen Rock RD 2, and Jacob M. Sterner, Seven Valleys RD 2; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, six step-great-grandchildren, two step-great-great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. William Sipe and Mrs. Philip Hamm, both of York.
Her pastor, the Rev. William Beck, assisted by the Rev. Dr. Kenneth S. Ehrhart, retired Lutheran minister, will officiate at funeral services at 2 p.m. Tuesday from the Geiple Funeral Home, Glen Rock. Burial will be in St. Jacob's (Stone) Church Cemetery.
