Louise B. Unterberger, 91, Watkins Jan. 3, 1916 - March 22, 2007

Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, March 26, 2007 at 10:30 a.m at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Watkins for Louise B. Unterberger, 91, who died Thursday at her home. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. at the Ertl Funeral Home in Watkins. Senior Citizens will pray the rosary at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home followed by parish prayers at 7:00 p.m.

Louise Unterberger was born on January 3, 1916 to Joseph K. and Angeline (Steichen) Kunkel at Marty (Pearl Lake), MN. She married Carl Unterberger on September 27, 1938 at Pearl Lake. She worked beside Carl while they farmed in Luxemburg and north east of Watkins. In 1948, they built their home in Watkins. Louise was a long time member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Watkins and was active with the Council of Catholic Women. She was also a member of the Watkins Senior Citizens. Louise thoroughly enjoyed her quilting and playing cards. She especially enjoyed visiting and spending time with her family and friends. The way she lived her life was an example to everyone.

Louise Unterberger is survived by her children and their spouses, Phyllis and Willy Quast of Crystal, Colleen and Rich Neu of St. Cloud, Roger and Bonnie Unterberger of Plymouth, Anita and Elmer Neu of Cold Spring, Chuck and Liz Unterberger of Watkins, James and Cindy Unterberger of Kimball, Mary and Ken Knaus of Kimball, Suzzanne and Mike Smiacek of St. Cloud; 24 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren; foster children, Mary O'Hotto of Osseo and Theresa Bloch of St. Joseph.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, Robert Quast; great grandson, Henry Meyer; brothers and sisters, Vincent, Roman, Henry, Alfred and Fritz Kunkel, Angeline Flis, Bertha Schutz and Tilly Kaufman.
