Emily Jo Waters, 68, died Wednesday, December 1, 2004, at Hospice House in Savannah after a long illness.

She was born in Sumter County and moved to Reidsville in 1956.

She was a member of Americus First Presbyterian Church, and attended Reidsville Baptist Church.

She was a loving mother and a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Romie Waters.

She is survived by a daughter, Cindy O'Neal of Lyons; sons and special daughter in-law, James A. "Jim" Waters and Joseph Romie "Joe" and Sandy Waters, all of Reidsville; nine grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Friday, December 3, at Reidsville Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Marion "Dick" Patton and the Rev. Sterling Bargeron. Burial was in Reidsville City Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Richard Bowen, Cliff Miller, John V. McCall, John Wingate, Steve Durrence, and Bobby Collins.

Remembrances can be made to the Tattnall County Relay For Life Cancer Fund.
