Death Investigated:

Miller County Coroner Rick Callahan and Sheriff Bill Abbott both confirmed this week that an investigation has been opened into the death of a 13-month-old infant boy in the Eldon area last Thursday, Nov. 20.

Callahan said an autopsy has been performed but the results, including toxicology screening, are not expected for six to 8 weeks.

Abbott said currently there is no indication that the death occurred from anything but natural causes. However, by law, the county's child death review team has to be involved in determining the cause of death as it occurred outside a medical facility.
