PINEVILLE — Tina M. Akers-Cook, 36, of Pineville, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2006, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Born Aug. 9, 1969, in Bluefield, she was the daughter of Charles Akers Sr. and Shelia Hudgins-Akers of Pineville and the late Connie Sue Gilley-Akers (Deceased).

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jack "Jackie" C. Akers, Sr. (1909-1986) and Cordie V. Pressley-Akers (1918-Deceased), Walt Gilley (Deceased) and Laura Gilley (Deceased) and the Rev. E.M. Hudgins (Deceased).

Mrs. Cook was employed by Southeastern Roofing and was a member of Preceptor Chi Sorority of Beta Sigma Phi. She was a wonderful wife, mother and friend.

In addition to her father and stepmother, survivors include her husband of 11 years, Gary Wayne Cook; a daughter, Brianna Sue Cook at home; a brother, Charles Akers Jr. and his wife, Ronya, of Matheny; two sisters, Morgan Irene Akers of Pineville and McKinlea Carlie-Ann Akers of Pineville; and her grandmother, Priscilla Hudgins of Pineville.

Service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, March 25, at Pineville Church of God with the Rev. Donald "Doc" Adkins officiating. Entombment will follow in Palm Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Matheny.
