"David Wherry, Jr. the youngest of the three children of David and Mary Wherry, was born about 1718 in Northern Ireland. He was raised on the family farm and upon the death of David, Sr., in 1743, he became part owner of the farm with his brother James. David, Jr. and James bought a 201 acre farm in 1746 and farmed that one together until 1764, when David Jr. bought James' half. This farm remained in the David, Jr. side of the family until the early 1950s when it was sold.

David, despite his age, served in the Revolutionary War and was in charge of the stores for Chester County."
