She was born on June 24, 1919 in Barnwell, South Carolina.
Mrs. Simmons was a residence of Fort Pierce since 1955 coming from Barnwell, South Carolina. She was a past member of Mt. Hope Baptist Church in Martin, South Carolina and a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Fort Pierce, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her Husband: Willie John Simmons, father: Addison Barnes, mother: Martha Barnes, son: Johnnie Lee Simmons, sister: Lizzie Zellers.
Survivors include: Sons: Willie J Simmons, Joe Simmons, Robert S. Simmons all of Fort Pierce, Fl. and John L Simmons of Groveland, Fl.
Daughters: Martha Simmons of Ft Pierce, Fl, Eliza Brunson of Ft. Pierce, Fl. and Blondell Simmons-White of Marietta, Georgia
Sisters: Sallie Ingram of Barnwell, South carolina

Services: Visitation will be 3pm-7pm, Friday, November 21, 2008 and Saturday, 9am-10am, November 22, 2008 at Sarah's Memorial Chapel. A Homegoing celebration will be conducted at 11am, Saturday, November 22, 2008 at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church.
A burial will be in Riverview Memorial Park.
