Aged 69. Died from Paralysis. He was from Bigelow,MO. In 1856 he came up the MO river and settled at Jones POint, a landing in West Hold Co.. After 3 years in the wilderness of Holt Co., he married Miss Emma Archer, 22 July 1859, and she survives. They moved to Bigelow and there their 9 children were born. Three have passed away and surviving are--Albert W., of Bigelow; Robert L., of Camp Crook, SD; James E. and Charles E., twins, James of Bigelow and Charles in Mont.; Hattie M. Walker, wife of Frank Walker and John Ira, of Bigelow. john L. became a Master Mason in Feb of 1870 at forest City Mo.. He was an officer in the bank at Forest City. Masonic services.

According to the National Park Service, he served in Company C, 9th Regiment Missouri State Militia Cavalry with the rank of Corporal.
