Inez E. Cline, age 75, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, died Sunday, May 2, 1999. She was the daughter of Sadie Byers of Dardanelle, Arkansas. She was born December 1, 1923, at Possum Kingdom, a daughter of the late Floyd Halsell. She was a charter member of the Hot Springs Historical Society having served as a vice president and president of the organization. She was editor and coeditor of the Historical Society's annual publication from 1963-87. She was a newspaper columnist and radio talk show host. She received the Inez E. Cline Award from the Garland County Historical Preservation Coalition.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Cline.

Mrs. Cline helped found both the Garland County Historical Society and the Melting Pot Genealogical Society. She was considered to be the Garland County historian for many years.
