This baby died when his mother, Nora came down with the flu in the flu epidemic of 1918 and after giving birth her and her baby boy died. They are buried together at Point Bolivar, Texas near the lighthouse where his father, Martin worked as a lighthouse guard during WWI.
Charles Gilbert Gardner, the babies brother, remembers seeing the baby boy wrapped in a blanket, laying beside his mother.
