Regina Wilhelmina Meischen Albert was born on the Meischen Family Farm on Haw Creek Rd. in Austin County, Texas November 9, 1916 to Louis Meischen and Theresa Eckhoff Meischen, the 6th of 11 children. On November 10, 1936, she married Oscar John Albert, Sr. Together they started on an adventure every day, raising 6 boys.
She was employed for 21 years at Heights Hospital in Houston, Texas, working most of those years in the newborn nursery. If you had a baby delivered at Heights Hospital during her tenure, this tall German lady probably took care and spoiled your newborn.
Regina was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Shelby, and an Associate member of St. Peter's Church of Coupland (UCC). She was also an active member of the WELCA of St. Paul's, Ladies Auxiliary of Shelby Fire Department, and Sons of Hermann, until she moved away from Shelby.
For the last 12 years, Regina had lived in the Taylor area to be closer to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who loved her very much.
She was preceded in death by her husband; 3 brothers; and 5 sisters; her son, Wendell; and a daughter-in-law, Sharon Albert.
Regina is survived by 5 sons, Daniel, Davis, William, Oscar Jr., and Randy; 5 daughters-in-law, Joan, Karen, Charlotte, Shannon, and Deborah; 11 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson due December, 2014.
