Carl Edward Johnson, 67, a resident of the Hubbard-Broadacres area most of his
life, died Monday, April 29, in a Portland veteran's hospital.
He had moved to Portland nine years ago after the death of his mother, Mrs.
Henry (Pearl) Burkhart, at Hubbard. Mr. Johnson had lived in Oregon 45 years.
He was a World War II veteran and former farm worker. He was a member of
Portland Post No. 1, American Legion. His twin brother, Clarence, died 25 years
ago.
Survivors include six sisters, Mrs. Helen Brown of Portland, Mrs. Mable Mesko of
Beavercreek, Mrs. Annie Brickley of Donald, Mrs. Rosella Rushton of Hubbard,
Mrs. Luella Luckey of La Mirada, Calif., and Mrs. Nina Chulos of Oregon City.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 3, in the McGinnis & Wilhelm Funeral
Chapel in Portland. Interment was in the Hubbard cemetery.
