"Moses Lee Roy Cloninger joined the Cypress Rangers on February 7, 1863 in Jefferson, TX. He wanted to enlist before that date, but he was not allowed to join until he reached the age of 18. He met his fellow Cypress Rangers on March 1, 1863, in Okolona, MS. During the fighting at the Battle of Atlanta of July 3, 1864, he was wounded.
