"Mr. S. S. Chapman died at his home about one mile north of the city this morning at about 6 o'clock. He will be buried this evening about 5 o'clock in the Public cemetery. Mr. Chapman has been in feeble health for some time, though able to be about until the last few days. He was quite advanced in years, being nearly 76 years of age. Mr. Chapman has been a citizen of this section about twenty-five years. Many friends will sympathize with the family in their sorrow. Rev. Mr. Gregory will officiate at the funeral this evening."
