The will of this William Terrell Lewis was written 11 Dec 1812, with a codicil added 21 Jan 1813. In the will he leaves everything to his wife Mary Ann and his 4 daughters, Mary Balch, (wife of Alfred), Charlotte, Myra and Margaret Lewis. In the codicil, he is his wife have power of attorney to give the one/fifth of the portion left to her, to his grandchildren , the children of Sarah F Claiborne, instead of the other four daughters.
The will was recorded in April 1813 at which time he was dec'd), and the codicil was recorded in the July court session in 1815.
All this is to say that whomever placed the headstone did not have their facts and that William T and Mary A were still alive on 21 Jan 1813!
