Frederick Elmer Hills was born Jan. 23, 1880 in Red Cloud, NE, died Aug. 27, 1953. He was the son of Frederick Amos Hills and Marie Thompson Hills. Moving to Roseburg, IN, Grant County where he married Ella May Price Dec. 22, 1900, born March 30, 1880, died June 23, 1950, she was the daughter of David E. Price and Mary H. (Thomas) Price.

They had the following children, Frederick A. (Fred) who married Golida Lockman, Lester married Emma Johnson; Herbert E. married Daisy M. Pond; Georgia May married Samuel Satterthwaite, all born in Grant County, IN. Viola married Richard Claytor. Viola was born in Lawrence County.

The family moved here where Elmer, as he was known, worked for the Ohio Oil Company. He retired as a pumper after many years of service with the company.

Mr. and Mrs. Hill are buried in Oaklawn Cemetery, St. Francisville, IL
