Mrs. J. R. Warkins whose husband died almost two years ago, passed away at her home in Dover, Saturday morning at the age of 78 years. She has been ailing ever since her husband's death, being confined to her bed almost entirely for nine months. The funeral took place Monday, conducted by the pastor of the congregational church of which Mrs. Warkins has been a memeber for 28 years. She was born in England and came to this country with her parents at the age of 12 years. They settled in Bureau county in 1851 and she was married to John R. Warkins in 1854. She was the mother of seven children, four of whom are now alive. A kindhearted and industrious wife and mother, after having raised her own family she took care of several grandchildren that were committed to her. The funeral was attended by a large circle of relatives and friends of deceased. H. P. Wood was the undertaker.

Mrs. J. R. Warkins, who has been confined to the bed for nine months, more or less, passed away at her home in Dover Saturday morning, Feb. 27, and was buried Monday forenoon. The service was held in the Congregational church conducted by the pastor and the remains were laid by the side of her husband who died nearly two years ago. H. P. Wood was the undertaker in charge. Mrs. Warkins was a woman of industrious habits, kind and generous of disposition, and did much not only for her own children but also for others who were committed to her care.
