A native of Mitchell County, Mr. Poitevint had lived most of his life in that county, and had moved to Bainbridge two months prior to his death. He was a retired farmer and a member of Greenwood Baptist Church in Mitchell County. Survivors include his wife, the former Miss Nannie Mae Singleton; two daughters, Mrs. Cecil Mills and Mrs. Zack Thomas; four sons, Clyde, James, George and Elmer Poitevint, 14 grandchildren; two sisters, Miss Lillie Poitevint, and Mrs. Alma Long; and a brother, Bennie Poitevint.
