Etta Viola New was born on Jan. 21, 1923, in San Jon, N.M. She was 88 when she went to meet the Lord. She passed away on Jan. 16, 2012. She was married on Feb. 29, 1940 , to William Thomas New, Sr. in Tucumcari, N.M. They had three children: Naomi, Ernest and Thomas. They had a happy life together. Her husband preceded her in death in May 1983. He was 72 years old. Also preceding her in death were her parents, Laura and Bingham Massey; siblings Robert Massey and Pauline Massey. She is survived by her children, Naomi(Enos) Cook, Ernest(Virginia) New, and Thomas(Karen) New, Jr.; siblings Lorene Burton, Jim Massey, Frank Massey and Ruth Massey; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. She touched the lives of many, was greatly loved by those who knew her and will missed by all. Her family rejoices that she is with the Lord. Memorial services will be held Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012, at 10 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Mosca, Colo. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made to Mosca United Methodist Church, Mosca, CO 81146.
