BUCKNER
Timothy S. (Tim) CONNER, 38, formerly of Sesser, died on Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2000 at Carbondale Memorial Hospital.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Sesser Church of God, with the Rev. Tim MELVIN and the Rev. Larry COOK officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Sesser. Visitation is from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Brayfield-Gilbert Funeral Home in Sesser and from 10 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the church.
Mr. CONNER was born Jan. 17, 1962 in Benton, to Oscar and Myrl (BENNETT) CONNER.
A 1980 graduate of Sesser-Valier High School, he worked for 19 years in the coal industry, and at the time of his death was employed at American Coal Company in Galatia.
He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America.
Survivors include his parents, Oscar and Myrl CONNER of Sesser; two children, Joshua Scott CONNER and Ginger Kay CONNER and their mother, Lisa K. CONNER, all of Sesser.
He is also survived by four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Debbie and husband Gene LOUCKS of Scheller, Tina and husband Mike MELVIN of Mulkeytown, Dana and husband Tony DERINGTON of Benton, Kentucky, and Terryl GOBTOP, Sesser; one brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Vicki CONNER of Sesser.
Five nephews also survive, Brent LOUCKS and wife Becky, Scheller, Jeff MELVIN of Mulkeytown, Anthony GOBTOP, Sesser, Sawyer and Stetson BAUMAN, Sesser, four nieces, Chanda LOUCKS, Scheller, Amy CONNER of Anna, and Honor and Heidi CONNER of Sesser. He is also survived by special friends Shelly and Logan BUCKNER of Buckner.
Also surviving are father-in-law and mother-in-law Bob and Shirley WOLL, Sesser, brother-in-law, Tim and wife Tina BAUMAN of Sesser.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Joshua CONNER and Ginger CONNER College Scholarship Fund. Donations will be accepted at the funeral home.
