Tom Reed Beasley, 85, died Monday, April 26, 2004, at his residence. He was born in Tattnall County to a family of the original pioneers of the county. He was an accountant who served many firms around the world. He returned to Reidsville in the early 1970s. He was instrumental in the beginning of Plant Hatch from where he served in several administrative capacities. He was a member of Reidsville United Methodist Church and served on the administrative board.
He is survived by his wife, Billie Beasley of Reidsville; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathryne Beasley and Roland Michael Toups of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; one grandson, Stephen Mitchell (Valarie) Toups of Baton Rouge; one granddaughter, Suzanne (Andy) Toups Adler of Baton Rouge; six great-grandchildren: Matthew Toups Adler, Allison Reed Adler, Shelby McCall Toups, Kathryn Holland Adler, Stephanie Michele Toups, and Roland Michael Toups II.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 29, in the chapel of Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home, with the Revs. David Hudson, Marshall Singletary, and Grady Walden officiating. Interment will follow in Reidsville City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Shuman, Louie Smith, Sterling Bargeron, Buddy McCall, Jackie Trim, and Rabun Phillips.
Memorials can be made to the American Camellia Society, 100 Massee Lane, Ft. Valley, Georgia 31030, or to the donor's favorite charity.
Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home of Reidsville, Georgia, is in charge of the arrangements.
