James R. Warfield November 14, 2008 : James R. Warfield, 77, of 456 Locust St., Halifax, passed away Friday at his residence. Born in Lykens, July 22, 1931, he was a son of the late Claude and Katherine Kohler Warfield. He was a 1949 graduate of Tower City High School and Williamson Free School of Mechanical Trade. He was a retired mason with private industry firms and then with Union Local No. 1 in the Washington, D.C., area. He was a member of Ashlar Lodge 570 F&AM and the Harrisburg consistory. He was a loyal Redskins fan for more than 50 years and enjoyed fishing, doing crossword puzzles and jumble words. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Janice K. Graeff Warfield; and sisters, Ethel Lechleitner, Dorothy Forney and Edith Yeager. Surviving are his wife of 17 years, Jean E. Hoke Schoffstall Warfield; a son, James M. Warfield and his wife, Lisa, Germantown, Md.; two daughters, Donna Warfield, Milford, Del., and Linda Murr and her husband, Thomas, Swanton, Md.; three stepsons, Charles Schoffstall and his wife, Jody, Halifax, Robert Schoffstall, Tower City, and Richard Schoffstall and his wife, Pamela, Halifax; grandchildren, Erin, Patrick and Marc; stepgrandchildren, Daniel, Richard, Keith, Melissa and . Stephanie; stepgreat-grand-children, Kaitlyn and Ella; a nephew, Jack; and two nieces, Barbara and Kathy. Services with Masonic Rites will be held at 11 a.m. today at Salem Lutheran Church, Elizabethville. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Elizabethville. A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. today at the church. Contributions may be made to Williamson School, 106 S. New Middletown Road, Media, PA 19063-5202. Hoover-Boyer Funeral Home, Elizabethville, is in charge of arrangements.
