L.C. Barham, 83, of Newbern, died Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2008 at Crockett County Nursing Home.

He was an employee of the Dyer County Highway Department, a U.S. Navy veteran, a member of RoEllen Baptist Church, attended Rehoboth United Methodist Church, and was a master gardener.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home with the Rev. Dan Tilley officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg.

The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Survivors include three daughters, Linda Sue Lemons of Newbern, Dottie Lowrance of Dyersburg and Jane Simpson of Atoka; a sister, Maudie Parker of Dyersburg; 11 grandchildren, Lorilee Kelly of Jackson, Alan Lowrance, Paula Kolwyck and Jeff Lemons, all of Dyersburg, Wendy Davis of Atoka, Carrie McFay of Knoxville, Lyle Lowrance of Stamford, Texas, Andrea Agee, Terry Lemons and Anthony "ToJo" Lemons, all of Newbern, and Brenda Lemons of Bonicord; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Hazel Barham; his parents, Charles and C. Elizabeth Ramey Barham; a sister, Mary Davis; and three brothers, James "Bud" Barham, Robert Barham and Shelley Barham.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Barham, James Barham, Ricky Barham, Stoye Barham, Emmett Reddin, Otha Castelaw, Jack Simpson and Jeff Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Barham and Randall Harris.
