Francis "Fran" Ann Alford, 58, of Centrailia, Mo., formerly of Thayer was born June 9, 1947, in Jonesboro, Ark. and died Aug. 10, 2005 in Centrailia, Mo. She was the daughter of Vernon Cecil Finley Sr. and Helen Virginia McCabe Williams.

She was a dispatcher and court clerk for the Police Department for the city of Centrailia and was a member of the Missouri State Court Clerk Association. She was a member of the Baptist Church in Mammoth Spring.

She was united in marriage to Henry Lee Smith. She was later united in marriage to Danny Lee Sims and Paul Alford.

Survivors include five children, Vanessa McKenzie and husband Julius of Knob Noster, Mo., Danny "Scooter" Sims and wife, Katheryn of Paragould, Ark., Derrick Sims of Springfield, Mo., Sandy Brewer of Thayer, Mo., and Charles J. Stankiewiez of Centrailia, Mo; her fiance, Danny Cato of the home in Centrailia, seven grandchildren, Gavin, Greg, Zach, Michael, Dena, Alyson and Nicole; her father Vernon C. Finey Sr. of Deer Park, Texas; her mother, Helen Williams of Bono, Ark.; one brother, Vernon C. Finley Jr. of Mammoth Spring; two sisters, Verna M. Pace and husband, Jim of Marmaduke and Darlene Rogers and fiance, George Manes of Marmaduke, several nieces and nephews; and many friends both in Thayer and Centrailia.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Henry Lee Smith. Danny Lee Sims and Paul Alford; and one great nephew, Michael Aaron Finley.

Funeral services were Aug. 13 at Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer with Rev. Ron Berry officiating. Burial followed in the Thayer Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Carter Funeral Home of Thayer.
