DROPS DEAD IN MIDST OF PRAYER

George Snyder Succumbs to Heart Attack While Leading Prayer in Porter Church

Suffering a heart attack while leading prayer, George C. Snyder a lifelong resident of the Timblin and Porter sections, dropped dead in the Lutheran Church in Porter Sunday morning at 10:30 o'clock at the age of 70 years.

The deceased was born November 4, 1864, in Timblin, a son of the late Casper and Katherine Snyder. He was united in marriage a number of years ago to Miss Bertha Engle, who died 16 years ago. Mr. Snyder was a devout member of the Lutheran Church. He was well known in the section, where he spent his entire life, and his death is sincerely mourned by a host of friends.

Surviving are the following sons: Frank,of Butler; Clair and Erdice, of Porter, and Dale, of Dayton. One brother, Charles, of Ohl, and a sister; Mrs. Harry Hinderliter, of Mayport, also survive.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clo:ck in the Porter Church with Rev. Rowland in charge. Interment will be made in the St. James Cemetery.

George C. Snyder

George C. Snyder, of Porter Township, Jefferson County, died Sunday, Ocotober 20, 1935. He became suddenly ill while attending services in the Evangelical Church in Porter, and lived a very short time after being removed from the church.

Mr. Snyder was the son of Casper and Katherine Snyder, and was born November 4, 1864. Most of his life was spent in Ringgold and vicinity moving to Porter about 18 years ago.

He is survived by three sons, Frank of Butler, Clair and Erdyce, both of Porter. He also leaves one brother and one sister, Charles of Heathville and Mrs. Harry Hinderliter of North Freedom.

In early life Mr. Snyder united with the St. James Lutheran Church near Ringgold, and remained a faithful member until death.

Funeral services were held in the Evangelical Church and were conducted by the Rev. Pryor Timblin, assisted by the Reverend Rohland of Porter and Rev. R. C. Miller of Indiana. Burial was made in the St. James cemetery.
