Born in Louisiana to Chester and Florence (Sherrod) Prewitt, he lived most of his life in Orange.
He worked for the Ameripol-Synpol Company and later for the KBR Company both as an instrumentation technician and an electrician. His work with KBR carried him overseas to work with the United States Military for three years and seven months.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister and brother-in-law, Jerry "J.J." and Llewelyn "Red" Myers, his sister, Helen Thompson and his grandson, Kaleb Adams.
Those who will most cherish his memory are his loving wife of sixteen years, Linda Prewitt; his daughters, Heather Thomas and her husband Bucky, Amy Renee Prewitt, Erika May and Andrea May; his son, Heath Prewitt; his sister, Etta Lee Prewitt; his brothers, Bobby Lynn Prewitt and Danny Lee Prewitt; his grandchildren, Ryan Jordan, Jared, Kendyl, Kelsie and Karli.
