Fernnie W. Hodges, 81, of Hilliard passed away October 23, 2007 in Jacksonville. He was born in St. Mary's to Robert and Stella Hodges. He served with the U.S. Army and was a farmer and a member of New Life Baptist Church in St. George.
He Leaves to mourn his passing his wife Nancy Hodges of Hilliard, daughters Norma (Ed) Hartsfield of St. George, Sharon (Mitchell) Gainey of Bryceville, sons Cecil (Lisa) Hodges, Ronnie (Jean) Hodges and Alan (Denine) Hodges all of Hilliard, sister Violet Hickox of Folkston, brother Douglas Hodges of Hilliard.
He was blessed with 16 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Mr. Hodges was predeceased by son Herman Hodges, grandson Christopher Gainey and granddaughters Payton Geiger and Little Miss Hodges.
The family received friends at New Life Baptist Church Thursday October 25, 2007 and funeral services were held Friday October 26, 2007 at 10 a.m. at the church. Interment will military honors followed in the Conner-Green Cemetery, Hilliard.
