Hubert "Blackie" Andrew Bowman, 83, entered into rest on Thursday, November 13, 2008.

Mr. Bowman was born on February 18, 1925, in Brookhaven, Mississippi. A World War II veteran, he served four years with pride and honor in the Merchant Marines in the European and Pacific Theatres. He subsequently served twenty-four years in the United States Air Force and attained the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. A resident of Warner Robins since 1960, Mr. Bowman worked for Ken Greer as a real estate agent and was the contractor on the Featherstone condominiums. He also founded Robins Land Company and designed and built his home. He was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, as well as the Robins Air Force Base Pine Oaks Golf Club and the International City Bass Masters.

His parents, Clarence L. Bowman and Willie Trotter Bowman, preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife, Mary Lee Erdman Bowman.

There will be a Rosary at 7:00 p.m., followed by visitation until 9:00 p.m., on Monday, November 17, 2008, at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 18, 2008, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Monsignor Fred Nijem officiating, assisted by Monsignor Marvin LeFrois and Deacon Jim Hunt. Entombment will follow in Magnolia Park Mausoleum with full military honors.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church Building Fund, 300 S. Davis Dr Warner Robins, GA 31088. or to the Heart of Georgia Hospice, 103 Westridge Drive, Warner Robins GA 31088.
