Paul Elam
Paul J. Elam, 80-year old Vinita resident, died Saturday at a Tulsa hospital following a brief illness.
Born July 25, 1899, at Lamar, Missouri, Elam had been a resident of Vinita since 1920.
He was a retired salesman with the Colgate Palmolive Company. In recent years, Elam had been employed by the First National Bank in it's Public Relations Department.
Elam was a member of the Pilgrim Presbyterian Church and had served on the elder and deacon committees.
Survivors include his wife, Mary of the home at 718 Canadian; one daughter Mrs Mary Lou Rogers, Fort Worth, Texas; one son Paul J. Elam Jr., Wilmington, Del., seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Services were held at 2:00 p.m. today at Pilgrim Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Mitchael Kennedy, pastor, officiating.
Interment was in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Burkhalter Funeral Home, Vinita.
