Sylvester Newton Welch, 78, passed away, May 4, 1935, in Rockford, Illinois. Born Oct. 1857 in Metamora, Ohio, son of Warren Charles and Anne Eliza Koder Welch. Sylvester came to Illinois in 1887 from Ohio. Married to the former Emeline (Emma) Josephine Malosh in Riga, Michigan on September 30, 1879. To this union 12 children were born, Floyd, Bessie, Joseph, Wesley, Clarissa, Sylvester, Guy, baby Welch, Nathan S., Emma, Sylvia, Artie and Jason. Sylvester is buried in the Greenwood Cemetery, Rockford, Illinois.
