Jerry Hamlin, 71, of Greenwood passed away Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2008, in a Fort Smith hospital. He was retired from Forsgren Construction and a member of East Side Baptist Church in Fort Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Grace Hamlin; one sister, Joan Gregory; and one brother, Gene Hamlin.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, 2008, at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with burial at Greenwood Memorial Cemetery. Viewing will be from 1 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

He is survived by his wife, Nina Hamlin of the home; two sons, Dirk Hamlin and wife Debbie of Alma and Keith Hamlin of Fort Smith; three daughters, Kelly Hamlin of Fort Smith, Mitzi Ridinger and husband Ed of Sallisaw, and Amy Hamlin and Duane Porter of Greenwood; one brother, Neil Hamlin of Mountainburg; two sisters, Mary Jarrett of Fort Smith and Kathy Moore of Rudy; six grandchildren, Kyle Garner, Nick Hamlin, Luke Beller, Colby Harris, Sarah Ridinger and Jennifer Griffey; one great-grandson, Grayson Griffey.

Pallbearers will be Ed Ridinger, Duane Porter, Steven Hamlin, Donnie Hooten, Kenny Hooten, Wade Landers and Micky Landers and honorary pallbearers will be employees of Forsgren Construction Co.
