Mrs. J. D. (Lilly) Wallace of the Union Community south of Plantersville, died Monday (April 26, 1954) at her home following a month's illness. She was 63. Funeral services were held April 27 at the Hopewell church. Spain Funeral Home was in charge. Mrs. Wallace was a native of Itawamba County and had resided in the Hopewell Community until two years ago when she and her husband moved to Union.

She leaves her husband, J. D. Wallace; four daughters, Mrs. Moody Evans and Mrs. Maurice Pettigrew, both of Plantersville, Mrs. Leonard Smith of Tupelo and Mrs. Mike Kopie of Paterson, N. J.; three sons, John and Ervis Wallace of Plantersville and Hughey Wallace of Tupelo; four brothers, John Gillentine of Dorsey, Willie Gillentine of Mooreville, David Gillentine of Skyline and Jesse Gillentine of Nettleton; five sisters, Mrs. Mary Witt of Tupelo, Mrs. Dessie Stevens of Smithville, Mrs. Dellie Riley of Dorsey, Mrs. Lula Tucker of Birmingham, and Mrs. Annie McGee of Picayune.
