FORBES Christine Tucker, was born in Stoddard County, Missouri, on November 7, 1915, to Charles C. and Amy Tucker, and died on August 18, 1997 in Oklahoma City, after a gallant and determined battle with cancer. Christine was a 1938 graduate of the University of Missouri and a home economics teacher for 40 years. The last 30 years she taught in St. Louis, Mo in the Riverview Gardens School District. She met and married the love of her life, Robert A. Forbes, in DeSoto, Mo, and they were partners for 55 years. Christine and her husband retired from teaching and moved to Denver, Co in 1979 and, in 1988, they moved to Midwest City, Ok to be near their grandchildren, Anika, Alex, and John Jr. She is survived by her husband and children, Judy (Forbes ) and David Diffee, Denver, Robert A. Forbes, Jr., Midwest City, John and Leslie Forbes and their three children, Midwest City; and a brother, Charles E. Tucker. Christine touched so many with her spirited outlook and focused approach to life. She will also be remembered as a loved and respected teacher, aunt and friend, and as a wonderful cook. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday, August 22, at the First Presbyterian Church of Midwest City. Family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Midwest City for the Mid-Del Food Pantry.
