BENTON - Charles Robert Williams, 95, died Thursday morning, Feb. 21, 2013, in StoneBridge Senior Living Center in Benton.

He was born Nov. 23, 1917, the son of Charles C. and Fannie (Barnfield) Williams.

He married Ethel Margaret (Beaty) Feb. 5, 1938, and she survives. The couple had just celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary. Mr. Williams was a member of North Benton Baptist Church.

He formerly owned and operated a Mobil Service Station in Benton for several years, and also worked at Benton Auto Supply and Tri City Redi-Mix.

He loved camping and fishing. Until the late 1990s Mr. and Mrs. Williams would spend winters in Florida.

Mr. Williams is survived by his wife, Ethel M. Williams of Benton; two sons, Robert Earl Williams and wife, Margaret, of Wyoming, Mich., and Michael Williams and wife, Sharon, of Carterville; grandchildren, Jim Williams of Lebanon, Mo., Julia Stone and husband, Warren of Adelaide, South Australia, Jackie Bennett of Blue Springs, Mo., Jeff Williams of San Diego, Calif, Steven Williams and wife, Jenny, of Elmwood and Becky Donahoo and husband, Jesse, of Bloomington; great-grandchildren, Michael Williams and wife, Eva, of Biloxi, Miss., Ashley Urbas and husband, Andrew, of Laquey, Mo., Mallory King of Brisbane, Australia, Kristen King of Adelaide, South Australia, Brittney Black of Anchorage, Alaska, Jonathon Black and wife, Mindy of El Paso, Texas, Brandon Highley and wife, Heidi, of Colorado Springs, Colo., Annalise, Brody, Brendan, Kiera and Kaylin Williams of Elmwood and Levi Donahoo of Bloomington; and great-great-grandchildren, Caden Williams and Dreya Williams of Biloxi, Alyssa Urbas of Laquey and Sloane Black of El Paso.

Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and two brothers.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, in Morton and Johnston Funeral Home in Benton, with the Rev. Jim Beaty officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery in Macedonia. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
