Chico Enterprise-Record, Tuesday, April 22, 1952: "George Gwinnup, Durham Rancher, Dies on Monday. George Frederick Gwinnup, Durham rancher, died Monday morning following an extended illness. Mr. Gwinnup was born in Illinois on June 19, 1876, the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Gwinnup, both native of Illinois. When he first came to California 40 years ago, he made his home in Yountville for five years and then moved to Durham where he had since resided. Survivors include four children, Wilfred and Delbert Gwinnup, both of Durham, Mrs. Lola Horne of San Jose and Mrs. Zona Thomas of Burbank; a brother, Mont Gwinnup of Denver, Colo., and two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Baker and Mrs. Torah Lambert of Kokomo, Ind. Rev. Ellsworth Benedict of Durham, will officiate at the funeral services to be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 1 o'clock in the chapel of the Brusie Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Dayton Cemetery."

Note: Delbert Gwinnup purchased the lot on April 22, 1952.
