Chico Enterprise, Saturday, June 29, 1940: "Gill Funeral Services Held. Services for Edward Gill, former Durham resident who died at Santa Rosa Thursday, were held this afternoon at Dayton cemetery with the Chico Lodge No. 113, I.O.O.F., conducting the rites, Walter Entler acting as noble grand and Arthur Mahon acting as Chaplain. Interment was held beside his late wife in the family plot. An abundance of beautiful floral offerings were in evidence. Arrangements were in charge of the Black and Johnson funeral home."
