Sandra "Sandy" Carol Stover, 63, of Bowmansville, died unexpectedly Tuesday, November 11, 2008.

Born January 25, 1945 in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Amos H. "Benny" and Pauline A. Gehman Good. She was the wife of the late Calvin R. Wise who died in 2002 and the former wife of Alfred W. Stover, Jr.

Sandy was employed as a cook at the Holiday Inn in Denver. Earlier in life, she had held a private pilot's license. She also enjoyed hunting, making dried flower arrangements, and taking care of generations of Shih Tzu's. Sandy was always willing to help others and put others before herself.

Surviving is a son, Michael T. husband of Dana Wise of Ephrata; a stepson, Alfred W. Stover III of Denver; three daughters, Mindi S. Wise- Lowery wife of Bill Lowery of Akron, Molly E. wife of Dale Pells of Palmyra, Mary A. wife of Brian Barnes of Reamstown; ten grandchildren, Trisha, Callie, Kayla, Mikal, Lacy, Austin, Miranda, Nicholas, Cole and Chase; a brother, Timothy husband of Vickie Good of Scottsdale, AZ; four sisters, Susan Kane wife of Jim Kane of Lancaster, Deborah Good wife of Andy Schultz of Albuquerque, NM, Mollie Ruth wife of Donald Ruth of New Holland, and Sara Hamilton wife of Bill Hamilton of Beltsville, MD. She was preceded in death by a son, Matthew Tyler Wise.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at the Holiday Inn, 1 Denver Road, Denver, PA with the Rev. Dennis L. Trout officiating. Friends may call at the Holiday Inn on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Sandy's memory may be made to the Adamstown Veterinary Hospital, 2481 N. Reading Road, Denver, PA 17517 or to the Humane League of Lancaster County, 2195 Lincoln Highway East, Lancaster, PA 17602-1130. Arrangements by the Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home, 394-4097.
