She was also preceded in death by her twin sister, Florence, who died during an appendectomy at the age of four years and her brother, Ned Moerke, who died in 2000.
She is survived by her husband Lawrence A. Marty; her daughter, Karen Marty; and her granddaughter, Chelsie Tominc all of Green River, WY. She is also survived by two nephews, Albert Moerke and Robert Moerke. She married Richard Horton in 1952 and he preceded her in death in 1956.
Nellie graduated from Green River High School in 1946, and later attended Western Wyoming Community College. She was employed at the Sweetwater County Courthouse first as a clerk with the Sweetwater County Sheriff's Office and then as a deputy County Clerk and later for many years as deputy Clerk of the District Court.
She was also employed by JPL in Pasadena, CA, as a legal secretary.
She maintained a home in Green River, WY, and a winter residence in Sun Lakes, AZ.
Nellie died on Nov. 8, 2008, at her home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, 2008, at the Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 901 Trona Drive in Green River, WY. The Rev. Dan Mulholland will officiate.
Interment will be in the family plot in the Riverview Cemetery in Green River, WY.
