Norma Jeanne (Hamilton) Nichols, 84, of Union City, formerly of Greenville, Miss, died Nov. 9, 2008, at Union City Manor Nursing Home. Graveside services will be 1 pm Wednesday at East View Cemetery, with the Rev. Ron Cox officiating. There will be no visitation. White-Ranson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
She was born Feb. 17, 1924, in Paris, daughter of the late John Tillman and Ava Blanche (Cochran) Hamilton. She married James E. "Pete" Nichols in 1946. He died Sept. 3, 1986. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
Survivors include her daughter, Jaime (Nichols) Dowdie of Olive Branch, Miss; two sons, Lynal Jay Owens of Reddington Beach, Fla, and Jeffrey Hamilton Nichols of Union City; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Willa Reynolds; and her brother, John Tillman Hamilton Jr.
