Norma Jean Abbott Novi Norma Jean Abbott, age 81, of Novi, formerly of Bloomfield Hills, died November 1, 2008. Wife of the late George "Pete" Abbott Jr.; dear mother of Jim (Leslie), Patti (Joe), Bill (Karen) and Dave (Cathy); grandmother of Chris, Megan, Michael and Emma; and daughter of the late Hattie Hollister. Also survived by many extended family members and life long friends.

She summered in Elk Rapids where she enjoyed gardening and being with family. She also enjoyed painting and antiquing. She was a former member of the Village Women's Club.

Family will receive friends at A.J. Desmond & Sons (Vasu, Rodgers & Connell Chapel), 32515 Woodward Ave. (btwn 13-14 Mile) Wednesday, 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Funeral service Thursday, 11 a.m. at Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 1800 W. Maple Rd., Birmingham. Visitation begins at church at 10a.m. In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorial tributes to the Elk Rapids Garden Club, P.O. Box 534, Elk Rapids, MI 49629.
