Joseph was born in Melbourne, Izard Co., AR, the son of James W. and Medean Byler Landers. He married in Paris on 13 Jan 1906 to Maude Evaline Sims (born 3 Mar 1888, died 10 Jun 1968 in Los Angeles, CA.) Maude was the daughter of Martin Henry Sims and Johhnie Breckeen Sims.

Mr. Landers, 67, a retired grocer of Slate Shoals community, died Monday night in Lamar General Hospital here.
