OBITUARY.
Miss Katherine Beeby
CENTRAL SQUARE — Miss Katherine L. Beeby, 81, a native of Central Square, daughter of an officer in the Union Army in the American Civil War. and descendant of an American Revolutionary soldier, died yesterday in a nursing home after a lingering illness. Miss Beebe was a daughter of the late Henry E. Beeby, Civil War soldier, and the late Catherine Devendorf Beeby. Her father was a member of Company B, Third New York Cavalry in the Union Army. She began her career as a schoolteacher at Central Square but decided in her youth to enter ' the busines world, and came to Syracuse. For more than 30 years she served as head of the classified bookkeeping department of the Syracuse Journal. Surviving Miss Beeby are a sister, Mrs. Fred Loren of Central Square; four nieces, Mrs. Ross Crabtree, Mrs. Harold Crabtree and Mrs. James Bellows, all of Central Square, and Mrs. Irving Lenhardt of North Syracuse; and four nephews, Howard D. Clark
and Robert J. Clark of Syracuse, Henry Beeby of Central Square and Bernard Loren of New Mexico. Friends may call at the Traub Funeral Home in Central Square from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p. m. tomorrow. Services will be held there at 2 p. m. Saturday by the Rev. Vern Van Der Linden, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Central Square. Burial will take place in Hillside Cemetery.
