Relph, Rose Irene, passed peacefully early Saturday morning, August 23, 2008, at her home in Wichita. Thomas, her husband of 58 years was at her side. Rose was born to Thomas and Edith Fitzmorris, January 1, 1925, at her family's farm in Fredonia, Kansas. After attending nursing school at Mercy Hospital in Independence, Kansas, Rose returned home and worked at the Wilson County Regional Hospital in Fredonia. She met Thomas in 1950, and they married three months later, proving love at first sight does exist. They began their lifetime adventure together that included a move to Wichita, eight children, 19 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and countless photo albums. Through the years, Rose worked tirelessly to meticulously organize and record each and every special occasion, historical milestone, treasured family photos and home movies; capturing decades of memories, love and laughter to be recounted and shared for generations. Rose faced her passage with courage, dignity, and even humor, but above all, faith. It was her deep and constant faith in the Lord that earned her the respect and admiration of family, friends and all who knew her. The love and loyalty she shared with her husband was nothing short of inspirational. Leading by example, she served as a role model to her children, teaching them how to build successful marriages and families by always placing God and family first. A lifetime of lessons is the gift she leaves behind. Faith in God and devotion to family are her legacy. Rose is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Thomas Patrick, their eight children and families: daughter Beverly and husband Kenneth Hester, Sr. of Savannah, GA, grandson Kenneth and wife Brandi, and great-grandchildren Sierra and Aaron; grandson Christopher, wife Christina and great-grandchildren Stephen, Nolan and Abbigail; granddaughter Teri Brandenberger and husband William, great-grandson Tristan, and a great-granddaughter Jordan, who preceded her in death. Daughter Pamela and husband Charles Poe of Toronto, KS, grandson, Scott Robertson and wife Alicia, and great-grandchildren Anna and Benjamin; grandson Trent Robertson and great-granddaughter Reagan; granddaughter Bridget Shannon, husband Jeff, and great-granddaughter Haley; granddaughter Sharon Norden, husband Russell and great-granddaughter Rylan. Daughter Susan of the home. Son Robert and wife Cris of Melbourne Beach, FL. Son Bruce and wife Betsy of Augusta, KS, granddaughter, Tracy; grandson Tom and wife Miranda, and great-grandson Luke; and granddaughter Tiffany. Daughter Donna Hicks and husband Joseph of Andover, KS, and granddaughters Holly and Katy. Son Timothy and wife Tamera of Wichita, KS, and grandchildren Patrick, Mariah, Noelle, Jackson and Corrine. Daughter Regina Kaiser and husband Timothy of Satellite Beach, FL, and granddaughters Jessica and Maya. Rose was the youngest of the four Fitzmorris children, survived by her sister Alice and husband Bill Walsh of Austin, TX. Her parents, Thomas and Edith, along with brother, Dennis, and sister, Agnes preceded her in death. Rose was a devout Catholic and a member of the Church of the Magdalen, and most recently St. Thomas Aquinas.
