FRUITLAND - Jay Archibald died in Roosevelt, Utah on January 31, 1997.
He was born September 11, 1929 in Garland, Utah to Clifford James and Nona Howell Archibald. He married Jolene May in Salt Lake City, Utah on April 24, 1948. Jay was raised in Bingham Canyon, Utah until he joined the U.S. Marine Corps at age 15. Jay and Jolene moved to Kearns, Utah to raise their family and lived there until he retired from Kennecott Copper after 37 years. They then moved to Fruitland, Utah where he spent the rest of his life in a home he adored and never wanted to leave. He loved the clean air, the serenity and the natural beauty of his surroundings.
Jay leaves behind his devoted wife, Jolene; son, Jim and wife Judy; daughters, Jaylene Hohenshelt and husband Kris; Jeryl Anderson and husband Bret; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Sandra Burke and husband Gib (Gooberstein); brother-in-law, Ralph Smith (Snuff). Preceded in death by his parents; sister, Lyn Smith.
