Obituary: PHILOMATH [OR] Elon E. Patterson, 73, 146 S. 20th St., died Sunday at his home.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Oaklawn Cemetery. The Rev. Terry Osborne of the Philomath Church of the Nazarene will officiate. Mr. Patterson was born Feb 8, 1911, in Charles City, Iowa. He served in the United States Navy before World War II. During the war, he was a civilian worker at the Mare Island Naval shipyards in Vallejo, Calif. On April 16, 1944, he married Marian L. Kester.

The couple moved to Hoskins-Kings Valley, where he did logging and millwork. They moved to Philomath in 1951. In 1969, Mr. Patterson went to work as a maintenance engineer for the Corvallis School District. He retired in 1976. He was a lifetime member of the Corvallis Elks Lodge B.P.O.E.

Survivors include his wife, Marian Patterson of Philomath; a son, Wesley of Corvallis; a daughter, Elona Bell of Florence; two brothers, Randall of Kansas City, Mo., and Lynn of El Paso, Texas; and three grandchildren.

Donations may be made to the Benton Hospice Service or the American Cancer Society, in care of the DeMoss-Durdan Garden Chapel, 815 N.W. Buchanan Ave.
