Word was received here last Friday by telegram that Michael Howe had dropped dead that morning in front of his office at St Louis Mo. His brother Thomas and sister Catherine, left on the first train for St Louis and returned Monday morning with the remains. They were accompanied by the deceased's twin sister, Mrs Mary Gill and two nephews Edmond Lyons and Roy Gill. The remains were taken to the home of his aged father, Thos. Howe.

Michael E. Howe, son of Thomas and Ann Howe was born June 4, 1860 at Sun Prairie, Wis., and died of valvular disease of the heart, March 1, 1907, at St Louis, Mo., aged 46 years, 8 mo. 25 days. He was a twin and one of a family of eight children all of whom survived him and who were present to pay their last tribute to the deceased. The most of his earlier days were spent on the home farm about two miles northwest of this village, with the exception of a few years in Chicago. About 22 years ago when he went to St Louis to live with his sister where at the time of death he was a dealer in tiling and mantel supplies, with a partner named May. He enjoyed good health up to a few weeks ago when he noticed an affection of the heart and sought medical advice.

He visited Sun Prairie last Christmas and looked the picture of health. At that time he expressed regret that he would have but few more opportunities to visit his aged father, believing, of course, that the latter would be called first. Having no family of his own, his interest centered upon his nieces and nephews whom he often remembered with generous and substantial gifts.

The funeral was held Wednesday morning at 10:30 o'clock at the Catholic church conducted by Rev. Father Blum and the remains laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery beside those of his mother, who died Jan 15, 1890. the pall-bearers were all nephews of the deceased.

He leaves to mourn his loss an aged father, five sisters, Mrs Maggie Lyons, Mrs Anna Cass of Madison Wis., Mrs Elizabeth Davies of Denver, Col., Mrs Mary Gill, of St Louis, Mo., Catherine Howe of this village and two brothers Thomas and James Howe of this place, besides a large number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
