Anna is the first born daughter of Hans and Maria Andersen. She grew up in Clinton County, Iowa (her parents farmed NW of Grand Mound). In 1908 she moved with her father and sisters to a new homestead in NE Montana. Anna originally intended to return to Iowa. However she met Ole Olsen, another homesteader from a Danish family, and they were married on 23 Nov 1910. It was a double wedding held at the home of Ole's parents homestead, S-SW of McCabe. Paul Anderson and Johanna Olsen (Ole's sister) were the other couple.

In addition to Anna she was sometimes known as Annie. Depending upon the source, her middle name is spelled:
▪ Kjestina (Family Members)
▪ Kjestine (Delayed Birth Registration)
▪ Kjistine (Baptism Record)
▪ Kristina (Marriage License)
▪ Kristine (1954 Family Record)

Three children were born to Anna and Ole: Nona, Mildred and Arden.

The family is fortunate that she kept photo albums and wrote about her, her family and others in a series of diaries. The diaries describe life on the farm, church, education, travels (back to Iowa several times plus a trip to California), and many other adventures (good and tough). She made excellent meals and especially Danish pastries (her version of Schnecken was excellent)!

When they transitioned from full time farming and ranching they built and moved to a home in Culbertson, just west of the schools. They continued to attend church at Ebenezer Lutheran in Dane Valley.

The family traditionally all met at Gma & Gpa Olsen's (Anna & Ole) to celebrate Christmas.

Following the death of Ole she moved to a care facility in Havre where her daughter, Nona, lived and worked. She died there on 15 Aug 1974.
