SUN PRAIRIE — Claire E. Hauge, age 80, died on Sunday, February 5, 1995, at her home. She was born in Yale,
South Dakota, on May 16, 1914, and was the daughter of William and Catherine (Murphy) Coffey. She married Melvin Hauge in 1937. Mother loved her family and her many friends. They always came first. She loved to read and was always ready for a spirited discussion on any topic. She knew what she believed, but always left room for others' opinions. She was a free thinker! She loved to work with her hands and rebuilt many pieces of furniture. She loved her time on the golf course, especially winning the family "Coffey Open". She encouraged others to be all that they could he. She was much loved. Survivors include five children, Betty (Richard) Lubinsky of Sun Prairie, Robert
(Djehane) Hauge of Houston, Texas, Mary (Stan) Wagner of Sun Prairie, Michael (Tina) Hauge of Seymour, Wisconsin, Thomas (Mary Jon) Hauge of Prairie du Sac; 12 grandchildren, Kelly (Angle) Center, Kent (Jill) Center,
Chris (Kevin) Orfan, Scott (Julie) Wagner, Brian (Kris) Wagner, Jaci (Scott Suchomel) Wagner, Amanda Hauge,Molly Hauge, Stephanie Hauge, Katie Hauge, T.J. Hauge, Angle (Jeff) Gibson: five great-grandchildren, Lindsay and
Taylor Center, Mia Gibson, Tyler Wagner, Brooke Orfan; a sister, Maxima Burke of Port Charlotte, Florida; a
brother, John (Carol) Coffey of Sun Prairie; a sister-in-law, Catherine Coffey of Madison; a special friend, Elaine
(Bernie) Dunn of Sun Prairie and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband;two sisters, Marion and Catherine; and three brothers,Leonard, Bill and Daniel. A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 8, 1995, at SACRED HEARTS OF JESUS AND MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 227 Columbus St. in Sun Prairie, with Father Antonio Rodriquez officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery in Cottage Grove. A visitation WILL be held on Tuesday, February 7, 1995, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the TUSCHEN-NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 302 Columbus St., where a prayer, service will be held at 7:30 p.m. followed by, the V.F.W. ladies auxiliary service. Memorials can be made to Sacred Hearts endowment fund or Hospice. The family would like to thank all her friends, neighbors and Hospice for all their love and support throughout mom's illness. Also, the special people from Kelly Assisted Living who helped care for mom.
