Alathea Dean Hasty

Obiturary (source Keo-Mah Gen. Soc,(Iowa) p. 419):

"Alathea Hasty was born March 6, 1835, in Montgomery county, Indiana, and died at 3:26 o'clock p. m., Sunday, May 2, 1915, at the residence of her daughter, Elizabeth Shinnofield, 914 Ninth avenue east,Oskaloosa, Iowa, of old age. Alathea, daughter of Voris Dean and Leah Dean, moved with her parents to Marshall county, Iowa, September 18, 1850; was married to T. B. Hasty, October 28, 1854. To this union were born ten children, of whom three died in early childhood. She leaves to mourn their loss, her aged husband, T. B. Hasty, three sons and four daughters; Mrs. Elizabeth Shinofield, of Oskaloosa; Dean Hasty, of What Cheer, Iowa; Mrs. Dora Storey, of Agra, Oklahoma; Mrs. Louie Lawson of Opportunity, Washington; William L. Hasty, of Marshall, Colorado; and Mrs. M. A. Scott of Kansas City; 27 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. She was converted at the old Hendrix chapel, five miles southeast of What Cheer, about 36 years ago, and was sanctified at the old Mission room in Oskaloosa, in 1891. Since that time she has always lived very near her Savior, always praising the Lord in her suffering. The funeral service was held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m., in the Friends Church, being conducted by Rev. M. Lemmon and Rev. Lurana M. Terrell. Interment was made in Friends Cemetery."
