Daughter of Mordecai Michener (1782-1836) and Susanna Shaw (1782-1834).

1st Husband: Titus Keese (1805-1849), married November 2, 1822 in Ohio. Titus died January 29, 1849 in Cardington, Ohio (Morrow County), and on December 3, 1856, Martha moved to Iowa.

2nd Husband: In December of 1865, at the age of about 60, Martha married Ansalem Cobbs (1799-1877). Martha was his 4th wife.
